We have owned this slicer for about 2 years and the last 1 1/2 years we have sliced meat 6 days a week . It has held up thus far and we are maybe purchasing a 2nd one as we are expanding our deli. Hoping for a discount or maybe even upgrade to another slicer depending if we can get a GREAT deal ! We highly recommend this product .

KWS has excellent customer service. They respond fast as lightning and they do what they promise to do without hassles. The quality and value of this slicer has been covered already in these comments, so I won’t duplicate what others have written. I just wanted to highlight this company’s extraordinary customer service. They really do care about their customers.

The customer service has been exceptional. I ordered the wrong accessory, they caught it, refunded my payment and sent me a link to a video showing how to remove the blade and clean the machine. I suggested instructions on how to use the built-in sharpener and they sent me detailed instructions. I have a finished basement with a wet bar so that is where I keep and use the slicer. I find it very easy to clean by removing the blase and putting it into the sink with bleach water.

Was a little concerned about buying a product built in China, but this has proven to be very high quality.

Great slicer! This 12″ model weights almost twice as much as the 10″, after it arrived I had to order a rolling appliance stand to store it on.
KWS Customer –
Great product. We hesitated because of where it’s built but are glad we decided to try it.

Nice Slicer. This slicer is very heavy . For the money it seems pretty good. But if you want to cut cheese a teflon blade is what the manual tells you to use. The blade comes in stainless steel or teflon coated stainless steel. It was shipped by fedex and the first one was damaged to the point were it would not work. The second one you could tell was handled very rough too. I had to do a little straightening to make it work. Not impressed with fedex at all. KWS stood behind there slicer in replacement. No problem there.

good quality, sturdy, only slight problem and probably true of most is the ability to clean the cutting wheel

Came here a day earlier, needed it for cutting a lot of Corned beef for an Irish Pub for St. Patrick’s Day. Though I would have had to drive out and buy one. Great job.

Great value, quality and arrived in perfect condition. No easier or worse to clean than any other brand of slicer I’ve used. Very quiet, expected the motor to be of a lesser quality. Unit is vibration free. I plan on using it a couple hours a week total and feel this model is capable of that and then some.
Mike –
love it for slicing cheese and meats. Only drawback is the cleaning. Have to remove the blade which is very sharp by removing blade cover then removing the three Phillips head screws. Washing it carefully with cut gloves and reassembling.

I spent 40 + yrs. as a meat cutter (butcher) . I have used many differant more expensive meat slicer than the KWS 420W meat slicer .I have sliced turkey and beef roast, including cheese, it sliced excelent, very happy ,great buy!

Is this is the best slicer you’ll ever buy? No, but it gets the job done. It is clearly made in place that puts less emphasis on QA as the angles and way the blade lines up with the meat are all a *little* off. The way the included sharpener sits on the blade makes it less ideal for sharpening since it either won’t reach or will reach in an off angle. However, everything else about this slicer is awesome. I’ve used to slice all forms of meat and cheese from standards like ham, turkey, mortadella and capicola, to lesser known meats like Basterma (middle eastern beef bacon). I also use it for hard cheeses like Beemster, Irish Cheddar, and Swiss.
Be warned that this machine is HUGE. It weights approximately 60 pounds and it takes an entire top cabinet in our kitchen (since it’s too large to be left out on display).
I would buy this again and I would recommend it to anyone – as long as they are aware of the caveats. Enjoy and happy slicing!

Works great. A little difficult to clean. But I’m sure they all are. The cheep one we had before this one was just as difficult to clean. Highly recommend

The directions are poor but I understand. As a mechanical designer I at times must write instructions. Even with English being my language of birth, writing instructions is very difficult.
The unit is well designed and easy to clean, when you do it correctly. When removing the blade cover backoff the blade retainer screw part way. DO NOT COMPLETELY REMOVE IT Now give it a tap with your hand and the blade cover will push forward, now finish the removal of the retainer screw. Completely removing the screw before tapping it will damage the threads. Now remove the 3 machine screws that hold the blade on to the drive hub. BE SURE TO USE CUT RESISTANT GLOVES and pull the blade off the hub, it is heavy and will cut you if not for the gloves. Now the unit is easy to clean. Some have complained that the screws holding the blade were tight, to loosen an over tightened screw use impact instead of torque. I use a impact screw gun but a vice grip on a screw bit and a small hammer can achieve the same thing. I had a few screws loose in the box, one was for the clear hand guard the other so far does not have a home. After a few hours run time checking the screws for tightness would be a good idea.

First the warning! Like the other gentleman who posted, there seems to be an issue with screws being lose in the package and getting caught in the machine! I had this same issue, fortunately the screw wasn’t in as bad of a spot as the other buyers, but did scratch part of the machine pretty good! Just be careful that you have inspected the machine before use!
Now my review: Overall the slicer is built well, it does not do frozen meat very well at all, the blade pushes out and…well just do not buy if you want to cut frozen. That being said if you are looking to do Mongolian BBQ or similar I would recommend letting your meat half thaw and then slicing – at that point it works like a dream. You can also put your meat in the freezer for about 2hrs and do the same thing. Simply put this purpose would be for getting even and extremely thin sliced meat without fraying the meat.
This thing is also heavy as an elephant…if you plan to only pull out of the pantry on occasion, go in knowing this thing weighs a good 40+lbs and is awkward to lift. Still worth it, just HEAVY!!!
Cleaning is never fun…it certainly isn’t with this slicer either…for the most part you have to take everything apart after each use…probably a solid 10-15 mins of cleaning. The challenge really is the spikes that hold the meat in place…my knuckles, fingers and palm have been impaled countless times…save yourself the trouble and purchase something with bristles that can clean these safely! Your hand will thank me. Meat get caught in between these spikes and it’s impossible to not have to clean this part out!

I love to make a brisket and slice it THIN! I’ve tried a few other slicers as I didnt want to spend the money for a almost professional slicer and I didnt want the size of a professional slicer. I learned the hard way that the smaller and less expensive slicers can’t handle a big piece of meat. You get what you pay for. I finally realized that if I wanted to do the things I needed to do I would have to make an investment. The KWS MS-12NT is a big, heavy machine (hubby has to be around to lift it onto my counter) but it is powerful and can handle a big brisket. After reading many articles on slicing I also picked up the tip of slicing the meat when it is partially frozen. Doing this with the powerful machine made slicing my briskets a breeze and I was able to get the THIN slices I wanted. It has to be stored in an extra bedroom as its too big for my kitchen cabinets but its worth it. I highly recommend.

Likes: powerful; cut through block cheese, boneless ham and semi frozen sausage rolls with ease; pretty easy to disassemble and clean.
Dislikes: it is heavy but I wanted a 12 inch blade so I expected it; knob that adjusts slicing thickness drags on shaft making it a little hard to turn (may just need to lubricate the shaft); but my biggest pet peeve is the 3 screws holding the blade on, they’re Phillips head screws and as hard as they are to get off easily stripped so I ordered some stainless steel countersunk machine bolts that use an Allen wrench instead. The bolts are #10/32×1/2 inch. I have installed them and they work great. **I installed 3/4 inch screws but 1/2 inch is what came out of it.

after reading reviews for many different machines, I decided on this one for the size of the tray and the wattage of the motor [at 420 watts it was the biggest one I could afford without breaking the bank] my daughter worked in a deli, she advised me to make the meat as could as possible without freezing it. did a 6lb pork roll, absolutely perfect. also did 2 slabs of home made bacon 5lb each accidently partially froze the first and noticed it wasn’t cutting clean at the start of slice. froze the 2nd slab a little longer, about 3hrs and all perfect slices. we buy in bulk and process our own ham and bacon. this will make slicing for portion control so much easier very happy with this machine. also love the fact it came with spare parts, but manufacturer’ website has all the parts you’ll ever need.

Ther product is great. Super solid and well powerful. Didn’t get 5 stars because packaging was insufficient to withstand shipping damage. For this price, it should be packed like a tank for its weight. Customer service was very responsive in getting replacement parts out quickly though.
